I tailor any painting or art classes specific to the student. Art is all about perception and so with that in mind I like to gear the imagery, teaching style, and any techniques to the students preferences. I provide lessons in-person, through zoom / web class, or I offer recorded lessons that you can pause and revisit at your leisure.
I enjoy creating things that speak to my soul and my heart. I am always amazed and inspired by the ability to create something beautiful and to put that on a blank canvas /wall to share with others - or keep for ourselves to enjoy. I want to help share that same joy with others.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically I would like to have an initial conversation about what the student is looking for - down to the simple things like; style, technique, imagery, and how long they would like to work on the same piece. Sometimes there are no answers for that and so we communicate ideas until we come across something that is inspiring.
Then I like to schedule a zoom/web class or a physical class. I go over what to expect and any questions/concerns. Finally we get on to the fun stuff!!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been painting since I was a child but I have pursued it as a full time career in 2019. Sometimes doors open when covid comes to close them. :)
I have college art courses under my belt but I have found my own personal desire to improve through self-learning to be the real game changer.

My pricing is very flexible. I am happy to adjust prices to fit within a certain budget. I encourage you to reach out to me to discuss this further.
My standard pricing is as follows:
30 minute (complete project) - $35
*30 minute (work-in-progress project) - $30
60 minute (complete project) - $45
*60 minute (work-in-progress project) - $40
I offer discounted rates for lessons longer than an hour or for multiple lessons.
*work-in-progress projects are for those who don't want to try and complete the project within that one lesson and/or are looking for a higher level / detailed project.
How did you get started teaching?
I decided to start teaching art lessons because I was so passionate about creating art on my own. I have spent some time trying to find my own unique style and I wanted to help others find theirs as well. I think it is important to try as many things as you can till you find the one that you love.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all sorts of people from children to collaborative pieces with other professionals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Here are some questions that I would ask you when trying to better understand what you are looking for;
- What painting style are you looking to try? Realism, expressionism, abstract, etc.
- What type of medium do you want to learn to use?
- What subject matter interests you most?
- How many lessons are you looking for?
- Do you have a personal goal you would like to achieve?
- What type of learning are you looking for? In-person, via zoom or web/based, recorded instruction.
- What prior knowledge do you have in regards to art / painting / drawing?
