Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by connecting—getting to know their goals, confidence, and love for the game. Then I build from fundamentals to mindset, creating a plan that grows their skills and passion every session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve trained through years of hands-on coaching, youth development, and community basketball programs—building experience in skill training, leadership, and mentorship through Love Hoops and partnerships across NYC.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes — Love Hoops offers flexible pricing based on session type and duration. We provide private, group, and youth development sessions with package options to fit different goals and budgets. All details are available at lovehoops.com.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching at 16, working basketball camps and learning the value of mentorship early on. By 20, Basketball City Camps gave me my first major opportunity—and that experience set the foundation for everything I do with Love Hoops today.
What types of students have you worked with?
I’ve worked with students of all ages—from toddlers just learning coordination to youth, high school athletes, and even professional players. Every level brings a new way to teach, connect, and grow through the game.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my favorite recent events was the Crown Heights Festival — a true celebration of community, culture, and basketball. Love Hoops brought people of all ages together to play, connect, and uplift the neighborhood through the game.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a coach who not only teaches skills but also inspires confidence, discipline, and love for the game. The right coach should help you grow on and off the court — not just train you, but believe in you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think about their goals, skill level, and what motivates them. Ask yourself: What do I want to improve? How do I learn best? And am I ready to stay consistent and put in the work?
