I'm the owner of Labrosse Music Lessons.

I've been teaching music since I was a teenager.

I am a Berklee graduate (2016) and live and perform regularly and teach in NYC.

I teach out of my Brooklyn studio, or can come to your preferred location.

I am fluent in Spanish, French and English.

In addition to my teaching, I represent some of the best music teachers in the NYC area.

Based off my experience and my students' results, I consider myself and the teachers that work with me to be some of the best teachers in New York City.

    James is a monster guitar player with a proper education, and Im a self-taught beginner, and still feeling a bit insecure about my playing. I never feel like he thinks hes too good to be teaching me. His lessons have been really encouraging and Ive already seen loads of improvement.

    James is a great teacher! Hes got the music theory knowledge to back it up too, which is nice considering how often that element is lacking when it comes to guitar lessons. Hes very willing to structure lessons to what Im looking for, and during those times when Im not sure what I want, he always comes up with a good plan. Highly recommended!

    James is a fantastic teacher. Hes easy going but knows exactly what material to give. Hes a Berklee grad with plenty of experience, so hes the real deal. Great guitar player, can play any stlye/genre. Also, very reliable and flexible which goes a long way. Definately recommended!

    First by assesing the students short and long-term goals, we would be able to determine what would be the best route for the student by selecting what repertoire to learn, what skills to garner (note reading, ear training, etc), and mantain a steady route in continuing to level up in the aforementioned subjects.
