Lessons By Reverie ~ Art & Dance
About
Hi, my name is Rebecca, and I am a classically trained multi-medium artist & hoop dancer who is passionate about expression through movement and visual art. I graduated from Pratt Institute in 2018 with a BFA in Drawing, and have about 2 years of experience teaching art and Hebrew school classes for students between the ages of 4 and 12. My students consistently say that my art classes are the hilight of their week, and find my lessons fun and educational, observing clear improvement over time. My art lessons are unique in that they combine abstract and realistic styles, incorporating color theory and technical drawing techniques while maintaining an emphasis on creative expression of ideas. I believe that everyone can and should make art, and my goal is to share with students the ability to explore their creativity with confidence. The only limit is your own imagination!
In addition to visual art, I am also a trained dancer with 13 years of experience in jazz, tap, ballet, modern, and fusion dance styles, as well as using a variety of flow props, and have been hula hoop dancing for about 8 years. I am comfortable teaching both beginner and intermediate hoop classes, and have a variety of hoop sizes for students to use during lessons/classes, or they can bring their own. Hooping is a fun activity & a great addition to any dance practice, improving reflexes & hand-eye coordination as well as enhancing skills in any other ; wherever you are most comfortable.
I love connecting with art and movement, and am passionate about sharing these gifts with others.
