Hello! I am Sean Hastings, a local music teacher who specializes in guitar and saxophone. I work as a general music and band teacher in Brooklyn, and have experience with students of many ages. I like to get down to the core of what excites my students and help them hone their skills in that area; whether it be pop, rock, jazz, classical, or simply just bouncing around learning whatever they like that day! BMS has been teaching music for one hundred and nine years. As a World-Class Community Music school we have a diverse offering of instruments and vocal training. I live and went to school in New York, obtaining a BFA in Music from the City College of New York and a MM in Jazz Performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music. As a trumpet player, I have played in a wide variety of musical settings, including jazz combos and big bands, concert bands and orchestras, Latin and salsa bands, and even the occasional rock band. I currently serve as a brass and piano instructor at several music schools in Queens and Long Island, and maintain my own active private teaching studio.
