William has a lot of knowledge of the game. He is such a friendly person and an awesome coach. He was able to bring me to a higher level and I enjoyed every minute of training with him. He has a great sense of humor which made the training a lot of fun. His style is very motivating and challenging, and that’s what helped me develop and improve my game tremendously. Thank you William you’re a Legend!! Mel Schwartz, 15 yrs old

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

A new student will receive an overall training session in the art of running, catching or passing in football. We will teach positioning, techniques, balance and footwork.

In basketball, we teach the game from the ground up. We will also work on shooting and dribbling to see where the skill level is. The session is an hour or longer and we will also make time for any questions during the workout. We will teach ball and player movement. The ability to drive and stepback in multiple directions.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Basketball coach/ personal trainer and former player. Even as a point guard, I was effective enough to play on every spot of the floor. I bring the continuous knowledge of footwork and adaptability to play with either hand from the perimeter to the paint.

High school football coach. Offensive coordinator and play caller. Special teams return game coordinator. I played quarterback/ running back and WR on offense. Strong safety, free safety, corner and linebacker on defense.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Most 60 minute sessions are priced at $60.

I've also built in a 2 hour  session for $120.

Willing to work with payment plans if need be.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching basketball when I was in college. An older brother of a friend happened to become a teacher in the town I went to school upstate. He approached me about coaching youth basketball in my spare time. I started with fifth graders.

I also started my football coaching career as a volunteer assistant while in college. Former assistant basketball coach became the athletic director and was looking for familiar names.

What types of students have you worked with?

I've worked with students from elementary school to junior high and high school level.  I have also worked with college level quarterbacks. Mostly, I've been working with varsity student athletes to help them blossom into a mature game.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The student should ask plenty of questions. They should also feel comfortable with the potential coach. Student athletes should also understand they are here to learn and have fun. There's no pressure. It's time to perfect their skills so it becomes second nature when it's game time.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

The students should think about what they want to get out of the training. They should ask if the teacher is going to challenge their ability to help them grow.
