Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Call or text to discuss the student's goals. Figure out scheduling. Meet up and start learning/training. Answer any questions and address any concerns. Give skills and drills to practice at home or at the range. Schedule further training sessions if desired.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.A. in Education. Martial Arts school owner and chief Instructor since 1998. FBI certified Firearms Instructor for law enforcement and civilians.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$150 per private class. Classes typically run about an hour. If the class runs longer, because student is struggling, no additional charge. We train until you "get it."
How did you get started teaching?
I started by teaching martial arts, and martial arts weapons. And have just added more and more skills to the skill set that I study and teach.
I love teaching, and seeing someone learn a new skill that will keep them and their loved ones safe.
What types of students have you worked with?
All. From beginner to expert. Men and women of all ages, and all experience levels.. on all platforms of firearms... pistol, rifle, shotgun. Law enforcement and civilian.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a qualified and certified instructor, who has a personality and teaching style that you like and WANT to learn from. Conveniently located, and reasonably priced are pluses... but remember that often times, you get what you pay for.
