Hello. I am a English Teacher in NYC. I have my Bachelor's of Science in English, and I am currently working on my Masters in Education.
I am offering tutoring for grades 3-12.
I am available week days (evening) and weekends, by appointment only and on Zoom.
Lessons include: Reading and Comprehension, ELA & Writing Composition, Essay Crafting, Resume Building, Public Speaking, Debate, and Communication skills.
I have a more detailed lesson plan for the scope of the session, if interested and based on needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
On the first meet, I will ask them of their academic goals, and list the areas in English that will need assistance with.
I will then give students an assessment tailored to their grade level.
After I've collected data, I will proceed on making lesson plans for each meet, thereafter.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science in English. Pursing my Master's in Education, and I have been a Charter School teacher for 2 years.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching by becoming an RA in college. I loved being a leader, guiding students, and creating programs. Whether it was financial literacy programs, how to find the perfect summer job, or how to take the best classes for one's major, I absolutely enojyed teaching and learning with my residents.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with UPK aged shortly after graduation (3 months)
I have done afterschool and summer camp programs (elmentary and middle school aged)
I have been an RA for college aged adults
My current role, is that I am a co-teacher for a 9th grade English class.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event I am fond of in the pandemic. There is a blessing in uncertainty and crisis. I believe this pandemic has opened my eyes to the true hearts of people, to the need for the best quality education for our students, and to the importance of having great leaders and mentors in the lives of others.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise the student to make sure that the teacher's mission, thoughts, and goals align with those of your own. It is your journey, your life, and your education. It is important to make the best decisons for you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students will need to think through topics that they need to improve.
Students need to be transparent about their strengths and weaknesses.
Students need to understand that teachers want the best and a rigoruous tutor session is preparation for success.
