John Goldberg

With over 25 years of experience as a performer and educator, I specialize in combining 18th century improvisation based pedagogy with modern Jazz improvisation to develop an internalized understanding of the language of harmony and counterpoint. This practice is at the foundation of all of my teaching and can be applied to students of all ages, especially the youngest.

My students and I put on yearly recitals where children have the opportunity to be their own musical directors and join other young players in an ensemble setting. Our recitals are always a lot of fun as students often have very eclectic taste in music.
