How did you get started teaching?
Coach Zaid played up to the Semi-Pro level for Astoria Knights F.C. in the UPSL and then later suffered a permanent knee injury. It was inevitable for him to turn to Soccer Coaching full-time after that, to pass on his knowledge of the game! :) He was also offered to go play in Spain and Italy by Pro Soccer Club companies.
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked with players of all ages and abilities. Mostly U-15 and below.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Coach Zaid's most recent role was Camp Director for 2 big soccer clubs called OSNK AND ASC. Now, he is more focused on doing private training sessions for young soccer players. To inspire and guide them.
Before his most recent role, he was a Head Coach of 4 teams for Oregon S.C and one of his State level U-15 girls' team won 2 big tournaments. The names of the tournaments were Oregon Fall Fury Classic 2021 and North Shore United Fall Classic 2021 in WI, USA. They also came 2nd in the WYSA State League. The u-15 Boys B team came 2nd in the Fall Fury. Coach Zaid has led all his previous teams to many breathtaking victories and suffered some losses too.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who is passionate about playing the game. Who has the knowledge, experience, and skills to guide you to the next level. Does the coach have good character?
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
We're here to help!
The student should ask as many questions as needed to help them understand things.
Below are some examples:
What skills am I looking to improve?
Will I commit to training with the intention of getting better?
Ask the What, Why, How, Who, and Where questions. They can help improve their memory, growth mindset, social support, and concentration.
