    Frequently asked questions

The first step is to meet and asses where they are musically. Once we have established that I prepare a plan that will meet their individual needs.

I had a Doctorate from the Manhattan School of Music and was a professor there for many years.

I am flexible in my pricing depending on the financial situation of every student. That being said my lowest rate is $75 per hour based on my experience, etc.

I have been teaching since I was an undergraduate in New York. I love teaching and sharing the gift of music with others.

I have worked with a wide range of students from absolute beginners to world class artists.

I was recently in San Diego performing for over 3,000 people outside - a different and fun event!

It is imporant to have your goals and expectations thought through before selecting a teacher. Also important to be honest and open when you meet with them as that will ensure a better working relationship and personal connection.

Questions shoudl include what is your teaching style, how do u formulate goals for each individual student, what kind of music you want to learn, what your long term goals are - eg. I want to be able to play a certain song or I want to be able to play anything, etc.
