About
Ivy League Mentors. From freshman year of high school to freshman year of college.
Dewey Smart is a team of current Ivy League students who support students through their entire educational journey with academic tutoring, test prep, extracurricular counseling, and college application support.
Our founder -- Michael -- scored a 36 on my ACT and a 1550 on my SAT. He was also a National Merit Finalist, and was accepted into Columbia University (where he graduated), the Wharton School of Business, and Brown.
Our team of mentors are just as accomplished. Our counselors founded startups in high school, were top in the nation for computer science and math, and researched with tenured professors.
Our platform combines 1-1 mentorship with topic review videos, high school planning frameworks, and an extracurricular opportunity database, so that your student will always have a plan.
Let our team of smart, empathetic Ivy League mentors guide your student into their dream school.
For academic tutoring:
Our goal goes beyond teaching students content to teaching students how they can learn the content themselves. Students who want to work with us for the long-term will first take a proprietary cognitive assessment that will let us understand their strengths and weaknesses, and build a personalized learning plan with data-backed study strategy recommendations. Then, each session, we will teach your student AND make sure they are staying on track.
For test prep:
Because we only work with students 1-1, our curriculum is totally personalized. Students will first take a diagnostic test. We'll analyze it for their weaknesses and strengths. Our diagnostic goes beyond the surface and digs into the specific types of questions students are missing the specific reasons why. We'll come up with a personalized game plan to efficiently improve your student's score.
For admissions counseling:
Our platform combines empathetic 1-1 mentorship with a world of resources and opportunities. Older admissions counselors will advise students to be "well-rounded". However, these days, admissions officers are looking for students that have a clear passion. As such, we connect students with internships and extracurricular activities that will help them pursue their passions in high school. Then, in senior year, we'll help them package their resume with a clear theme and personal essays that will help them stand out from the pack.
