About
Julia began teaching private violin lessons when she was a freshman in high school in Hershey, Pennsylvania and fell in love with teaching. She loved it so much that she went to Ithaca College for music education and taught privately each summer. Julia graduated in 2020 and now teaches in the Pittsford Central School District.
In addition to teaching, Julia is an avid performer. She has performed in the National Orchestral Institute and Festival, The Apple Hill Chamber Music Festival, the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, and numerous pit orchestras in the Central Pennsylvania region.
Bachelor of Music, Ithaca College '20
My favorite moment with any student is when they find themselves making music, not just playing notes. It happens at different times for each student but when it does, you see a light in their eyes which motivates them to continue working and playing their instrument!

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching when my high school orchestra teacher asked if I wanted to help out with an after school program for elementary school beginning string players. I loved this experience so much that I created my own private studio in the following summers and even had a studio recital. That pushed me to pursue a degree in music education and now I am teaching orchestra and string lessons!
