I am a self taught mixed media artist. Graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology. I Owned and ran my own art/craft business for over 30 years selling at markets and at my small brick and mortar store in beautiful upstate New York. I recently moved to Florida ,semi retired and work part time in a different direction towards my optician license. I will consider teaching jewelry making and my true passion fiber art painting.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Short interview on student to get a feel of their temperment,strengths weaknesses and learning preference and skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 30 years creating and 20 years self employed art craft jewelry business. Graduate of design and patternmaking Fashion Institute of Technology.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have an art studio and am beginning to set up in Glens Falls Shirt factory this fall. Early winter lessons will begin. I will be teaching there. Pricing is for 2 students at a time so its semi private or private. $20-$25 per 2 hour lesson. Must travel to me. I am not considering accomodating driving to ones home at this time. Certain circumstances I will consider. Disabled and or handicapped persons I will consider coming to their residence.

I have only taught a few times. People have asked me to teach them.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My colleague who teaches acrylic to mentally challenged students. That warms my heart and brings tears to my eyes. Absolutely love it and am inspired.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Dont expect perfection. Expect them to "TEACH" technique, color, why things are so. I have had teachers who just paint in front of you and say then I do this, then this.. That is NOT teaching thats a robot. Foundation,fundamentals mixing colors and MUST and let loose. Light and dark create images and is the key to everything, even LIFE! Just because someone studied ART History ect.. in college does NOT make them an artist and shouldnt impress. Painting is a creative GOD given gift. A true teacher will bring out everyones gift and creativity and should not judge by rules. Amen.
