About
10 years experience as a Driver's Education teach. I have a lot of patience for new drivers and I have a brake on the passenger side of my vehicle so everyone's comfortable and no one is nervous about stopping the vehicle when necessary.
I love teaching the proper technique of driving, which relates into good habits later on and defensive driving is important as I also teach some good points on how to avoid difficult traffic situations.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Start out in a large parking lot to go over the basics of handling the vehicle, such as acceleration, braking, steering, etc. Then we build you up to go on quiet side streets and eventually to busier roads with other vehicles on the road. This is at your own pace, and you are never rushed if your not ready to advance to the next step.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked over 10 years as a Driving Instructor and have worked with students who have problems with passing the road test. I know each road test area in Nassau & Suffolk County and I know exactly what the road test examiners look for in students for passing their exam.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $60.00 for a 45 minutes lesson. I do not have a vehicle at this time so the student would have to provide a vehicle. l will drive to your location and we can do the lesson from there. I also specialize in getting my students to pass their road tests once I feel that they are ready.
I also offer a 3 lesson package at $170.00 cash up front. I only accept cash payments at this time.
How did you get started teaching?
The job started out as a part-time position, then full-time. I was working as a driving instructor, and then I also got certified to teach the 5 hour pre-licensing course and the 6 hour Defensive Driving course. Even after I started working full-time as a Purchasing Director for a Healthcare center, I love teaching people how to drive.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of students, some with disabilities as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a student who failed the road test twice, but I eventually got her to pass after some practice and determination. She wanted to give up, but I would not let her. She was happy I didn't. She was very happy.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Please make sure that they teach you the basics, starting with acceleration, braking, steering, etc. And make sure that they are going over everything you need to know for the road test. Without this knowledge, it can make a difference between passing & failing.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should let the instructor know if they have any fears before starting out, and it may be necessary for the instructor to drive to an open area such as a parking lot to start out. From there you can build up to the point where you get out on the road, but you should start on a quiet street at first. You need to start out with baby steps when you start driving.
