About

I aim to help my students get the most out of their investment in learning. Whether it be in the realm of athletics or academics, the quality of their time is something I do not overlook. I have found that the enthusiasm and selflessness of my teachers have helped me have success later in life with tennis and engineering so my goal is to pass that on to whoever I work with. The person who taught me tennis didn't just do it so I could achieve my goal of a professional ranking, but to help me develop the skills and understanding to be a student of the sport and be able to carry that over to other areas of life. I was able to take that into the realm of engineering and with the same mindset develop skills with math and science to develop patents in the medical device industry and become a team leader among engineers in developing the renewable energy field.

My greatest enjoyment is seeing my students take their steps in growing their skill set. From a beginner in tennis staring to rally to an advanced player making the tweaks on their serve to turn it into a weapon, the process is hard to go alone and having guidance makes it a path work taking.

I was lucky enough to have had Anthony to help me with actually both tennis, and math tutoring. I have never met any instructor, possibly even any person, who’s as dedicated and patient as he is. He helped me achieve cum laude when I graduated college, because with his help, I received an A in calculus. In the same year, I received the Most Improved award on my tennis team. In tennis, he discusses not only technique, but also strategy. He would even connect calculus concepts into tennis! I became so confident in myself, and it bled into all aspects of my life. The most valuable thing I learned from him is that I can do anything I put my mind into - calculus, tennis, or anything else!

Frequently asked questions

I normally start off with mini tennis and gauge the level of the student.  Most of the time I go through a typical 4-part drill meant to focus on basic hand-eye coordination as well as footwork to solidify the skills needed to rally.  I relate each movement required to motor skills the player is most familiar with so they have an easy time transitioning to tennis-style movement.

I have a professional level PTR (professional tennis registry) certification specializing in 11-17 year olds.  I have worked with adult leagues as assistant coach as well as after school pee wee programs.

My standard pricing for a private lessons is $40/hr and $50 for an hour and a half.  If it is a semi-private lesson then per person is $30 for one hour and $40 for an hour and a half.

Note: As of now I am not available on weekdays.

I started teaching my parents to prepare them for their adult leagues.  Eventually parents from the neighborhood asked me to teach their children and I enjoyed it so much I wanted to perfect my coaching style help others like my coach has helped me.  I got my PTR certification and started working at a local tennis club as well as giving private lessons when requested.

I have worked with students from pee wee level to college level.  The majority of my coaching has been with adults and kids in the beginner and intermediate level.  I also coach my college team during their season.

A student who was working on their serve was suddenly starting to get the hang of it.  What was once their self professed weakest shot was now their favorite.  I was fond of knowing I contributed to their growth!

Understand that practice doesn't make perfect: otherwise there wouldn't be the same people winning every tournament.  Practice makes permanent habits.  So understand that the time you spend on court will form and solidfy habits in your game, and thus an instructor should look to provide simple guidance to forming the best habits.

What are their goals and ambitions for the skill they are trying to learn and how do they want an instructor to contribute toward that.
