I have a degree in Visual Arts from SUNY New Paltz with a focus on painting. In school I did mostly large scale oil paintings that focused mainly on abstract landscapes. Since then I have explored many other styles of painting.
I will work with you one on one on exactly what you want to work on. I most experienced in oils and acrylics but, could also give lessons in ink and watercolor. Painting is my passion and I love teaching people!
Painting is something anyone can do at any time in their life. Creating is part of human life and everyone is capable! For me painting helps me relax and it gets me excited! I love sharing it with others and watching their faces light up when they have completed a piece or made something look like what they actually wanted it to look like. Painting can be difficult but when you take it step by step with direction it can be fun and easy to pick up!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I like to find out your goals in taking lessons. What types of art you are interested in and what you want to paint. Depending on the person, we can usually start painting right away!
For beginners we can go over color theory and mixing colors, different brushes and mediums, how your surface impacts your painting.
For people with more experience, we can learn whatever you would like! Painting styles, techniques, new mediums! It's all up to you.

Lessons are between $40 and $65hr depending on what you want to do and what I need to provide in terms of materials.
