Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start off with a introductory lesson and basic testing. I gauge the players abilities and focus on the main points of work from there on out. From there, I make a routine the players should try to follow over the week.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
4 years of division 1 college experience. 4 years of professional baseball experience. 8 years of coaching experience with a prestigious baseball academy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I run packages which would make my per/hour rates cheaper. A normal hour lesson costs $65. Or $40 for a half an hour lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
It was a natural transition from playing to coaching. I love seeing kids practice hard and teach their goals. I feel a sense of accomplishment when it happens.
What types of students have you worked with?
Students of all ages, gender and nationality. I even have spent time teaching the game abroad in australia and South Africa.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have been working with a hearing impaired student of mine for the past year. Since we've started together, not only has he became a better player, and the best pitcher in his league; he has become a more confident kid overall. It's a great thing to see.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be ready to practice hard. I will make it a fun experience, as long as you are focused and desire to get better.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Feel free to ask anything you feel is productive. I'm here for knowledge in all facets of the industry.
