About
I've been a professional fine art instructor and award-winning, versatile professional artist for over 30 years and work with students of ALL ability-levels. I pride myself on my patience as an instructor, the ability to inspire, and my extensive knowledge of drawing, painting and design in different media and styles.
I received my B.F.A. from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in NYC and am currently an artist member of The Salmagundi Arts Club, also in NYC.
I currently teach beginner-to-advanced drawing and painting sessions at the National Art League of Long Island and am the founder of the Millennium Art Academy, a visual art high school I created in 2002 with a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grant.

I enjoy getting my students to learn new drawing or painting techniques through hands-on demonstration and watching their 'Aha' moments as they create beautiful works of art that they can exhibit, sell, include in a portfolio, or give as special gifts to loved ones.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first ask students what type of art they’re passionate about learning, and then I ask them about the specific types of skills they wish to learn or strengthen. - If they have done some art, I ask them to share it with me, so I can get a sense of their passions and skill levels. - I then begin a lesson with a demonstration followed by the student trying it, etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art and an MFA from Brooklyn College.
