Vitaly Umansky Art Studio
About
I offer adjustability and multiplicity. I can teach children as well as adults. I know when the student needs to follow my example, and when the students should pull the art from within himself. I also offer a variety of technical skills, from drawing, to painting, to computer graphics, encompassing color theory, perspective, human figure, composition, and more.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would typically start with asking the student would would you like to learn/do. Then I can make a demo, and have the student work, occasionally checking their work, giving tips and guidance, and so, moving to new things. In the process I explain why I do this or that thing, and share tips of how to think of certain shapes, colors, etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in Illustration from FIT. Prior to that I studied 2 years in a studio of a master artist, and several more years prior to that under another artist.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Typically, it is $30/hr, depending if the lesson is more or less the price is adjusted up or down.
How did you get started teaching?
I taught art in several nursery schools. I was taking a break from teaching for my own art in the past couple of years. Then, when the pandemic hit, I thought it could be an opportunity to offer online classes, so I've been doing that since March.
What types of students have you worked with?
I worked with children as young as 4, teenagers, and adults.
