About
I have worked in various aspects of the photography and computer businesses since 1980. I have worked as a commercial photographer, event videographer, fine art photographer and a teacher.
Over the past 20 years, I have been teaching SLR & DSLR Fundamentals, Photoshop and Lightroom at the Rye Art Center, Westchester Day School, and Mamaroneck High School Continuing Ed.
In addition, I've been helping people manage family photo archives - organizing, archival storage, digitization and restoration of old photographs.
Recently, I have expanded my services to include screen sharing and remote lessons.
I love so many things about photography, and I am trying to "spread the word", Whether that be mastering the skills of picture taking with a particular camera, organizing photos into a coherent sequence in an exhibition or a photo book, or restoring wonderful old family photos, giving them a new life and distributing them to family members and potentially to the the public.

How did you get started teaching?
as a photographer, people were always asking me questions, and complementing me on my patience, and how good I was at explaining things.
What types of students have you worked with?
On my business card, it says "from 8 to 88" I have worked with primary school student working people and seniors and enjoy working with them all. My clients have included everyone from absolute beginners to professional photographers who needed help in the digital realm.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who has a broad base of experience, and someone who will not become impatient if it's necessary to go over material multiple times.
