About
I've been teaching classical and broadway voice for over thirty years to students of all backgrounds and abilities. I start with the breathe, the foundation of the voice. Many of my students have gone to top conservatories, including Julliard, Manhattan School of Music, New England Conservatory among others.
I tailor my approach to the student and make sure everyone feels comfortable :-) The most important part of my job is to make students feel the joy of singing! I'm a people person!
I like helping students develop their personalities, confidence, and poise as well as their singing abilities. I love watching my students grow in performers. I enjoy hearing the voice develop, seeing their faces light up when the hit a note that had been previously out of their range.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach students to sing on the breath using the diaphram to support the voice. I work to increase students vocal range through scales. I am always looking to build students' vocal strength, and teaching them to blend smoothly between their head and chest voices. I teach students to interpret texts that they may best express meaning and emotion.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree in music education from Columbia University's Teachers College, and a bachelor's in opera performance from Manhattan School of Music.
