Melvin Levett Skills Training

My daughter is a first year player and he was able to bring skills down to her level and laid out a plan to get the footwork down first then build up to the big items. My daughter is excited to continue working with him and I’m confident she is in the best hands.

I first saw some video clips of his sessions on Facebook and was struck by both their innovation and applicability to the game. I took both my boys to the first session and came away awed - he got more out of them in an hour than I had ever seen out of my boys in the same period of time. Both boys came away more excited about the game and about training in general than I had ever seen.

However, whats more important is this: Melvin is not only a great trainer, but an admirable person. There was no yelling, no cursing, nothing negative at all. What he got out of his charges, he pulled out through positive reinforcement and the simple weight of his expectations - the kids intuitively know that he isnt asking them for more than they can do, just that they are being stretched.

In short, Melvin is a wonderful, knowledgeable trainer AND an intelligent, grounded individual that is among the best role model you could find for your player. I give him the highest recommendation I could possibly offer.

Coach Mel enhanced my daughter’s game tremendously. He critiqued her shot and helped her quicken her release. He also enhanced her moves to the basket with the drills he did with her. Most importantly, his skill building gave her confidence to drive to the basket. She loves training with him, and whenever she has an off game she says “take me to Coach Mel.” They have a great rapport and he really seems to care about her as a player and as a person.
