I would like to help those who understand that drawing from photographs is not learning but copying. I am interested in serious students who want to grow and learn how to grow. I am offering a friendly critique but require a commitment for a better results. The minimal course is six lessons.
I can help beginners who just want to enjoy art with advice what to look for in their creativive efforts and how to set goals.
i studied realistic painting in the art college in Astrakhan, Russia - 1968-1972 and Latvian State Art Academy in Riga, Latvia - 1977- 1981. Drawing is my strong point.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For beginners I set up a still life with some basic geometrical shapes, then we progress to drawing from life the casts, fragments of Michelangelo’s David and other classical head casts. When students are ready, a live model is hired.

Art college in Russia - 1968-1972,

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I was teaching in my studio one-on-one, $90-120 for a session of 3-4 hrs, plus model fee, when applicable.
Price for my weekend workshop for a group of 6-10 is $400 per student. It includes 2,5 hrs demo on Friday and 8 hrs with a lunch break on Saturday and Sunday.
How did you get started teaching?
I teach time to time, besides of my own painting.
What types of students have you worked with?
Amateur artists from the sketch group of the Cincinnati Art Club.
Visitors of my studio, which is open to public once a month, sometimes are interested in lessons.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise to send me a few of drawings made from life only, including a self-portrait. Do not worry about the quality of the drawings, the main thing is how your mind is set.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
