Professional advertising photographer and photo studio owner specializing in people, food, and product photography. Time to give back, for the pure love of the art.
Mastering light and the art of seeing has allowed me to capture beautiful images, and capturing beautiful images allows me to see something different every day! I get to meet the most interesting people and eat the most amazing food and see amazing places.
I have a photography degree from Purdue University and did some Master's work in lighting design for theater, which allowed me to learn about 3-dimensional lighting and color blending. I started in the photo business in 1989, working for several prominent photographers, and did some work in professional video production. I have worked as an independent still photographer since 1995, and co-founded Alias Imaging Photography Studio in 2003.
Those Skyline Chili billboards you saw all over recently, giant 3-way and coneys?
Yeah, I did that.
I'm just getting started with photography, and I had a great first lesson with Adam at Alias Photo Pro. He has a very interesting background and a wealth of knowledge and experience in photography. He takes the time to understand your goals so he can tailor the lesson to focus on whatever areas you want to grow your skill in. I've learned so much already and I look forward to continuing to work with him to become a better photographer.
Happy to teach all levels of photography, and will guide each person according to their desired results. You want to learn about manual functions on your DSLR? No problem. Want to talk about the rule of thirds? Sure! Want to take better pics with your phone? I can help. You tell me what you want to learn.
I have been working as a photographer for over 30 years, and have a Bachelor's degree in photography from Purdue University. I learned on film and embraced digital at its beginning. I love the tech and the art of photography!
