Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask what your level of knowledge is with your camera, so we do not go over things yu aready understanding. I want you to learn. I also go over with yu what your goals are so I can target that area.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am Certified as a Professional Photographer and I have a Business Management certificate from the University of Tennessee.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons are $150 for 10 sessions. $300 for 25 sessions.
Each session is 60 minutes and you are sent home with an assignment.
The session is once a week.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching very young when I first learned photography. I had to pass it on what I learned.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages and walks of life. I have had small and large classes, but usually I have 3 to 5 in my class.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I shot a fabulous wedding this month at the Holy Cross Church at Mt. Adams. The couple was kind and gracious. I just wanted to go above and beyond for them.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who is willing to spend the time it takes to teach and who cares about your understanding.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Can you attend the classes. Missed sessions mean missed information. It's hard to catch up.
