Hello! I am a visual artist and a TSVI (Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments and Blindness). I offer art classes to people with and without physical and/or cognitive impairments. AND I offer tutoring lessons in the UEB Braille Code. I have a BFA in Studio Arts from Kent State University and Master's Degree in Special Education Specialization in Blindness and Visual Impairments, University of Arizona.
I offer lessons in drawing, painting, low relief sculpture.
I offer Braille lessons.
I offer a combination of both if that is what you are looking for.
I work with all ages; children and adults. I have been an artist forever, and a TSVI since 2016.
Lessons can be in your home, a local public library, or when weather permits (summer!) out of doors at a public park.
I love to help people have fun with art as well as build their artistic skills. I also love teaching braille. I can offer tutoring services to children learning braille. I can also offer braille lessons to parents of children who are learning braille in school. Whether you are looking for art classes, or braille classes, or both; please reach out!
PLEASE NOTE - I will begin offering classes this spring, after March 2025.
Please reach out with questions or inquiries.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an artist who paints, draws, and from time to time does 3-dimensional work as well, has a BFA in studio arts, 1991 and has had many exhibitions. I've been painting for a long, long time. One thing lead to another and I became a teacher of students with visual impairments 7 years ago. I have a Master's Degree in special education~visual impairments and blindness. I teach students with low vision or blindness.
This is why I am offering classes in the spring when school is beginning to wrap up for the year. I work to make art accessible. And I love to teach braille and hope to share my enthusiasm about learning braille. I have experience with diverse populations and a love of art and love for helping people create it. And I love helping people access literacy via braille.
