About

I intuitively tune into what the clients/student's needs are during each session.

I make sure my clients feel comfortable, open to learn, and ready to dive in with enthusiasm!

I don't take my role as a teacher lightly. I am incredibly passionate about what I do, and what I teach, and I believe that resonates with my students. They can FEEL that energy.

I enjoy seeing my clients have major breakthroughs, enhance and expand their skill set, and I enjoy witnessing them willingly step into a space with me to commit and better themselves by learning something new and fun! :)

I learned a lot and can retain information from the first class (1 hour). The way she taught was clear and she always had a smile on her face, which makes my learning experience much better.

Frequently asked questions

Typically I start off a working relationship with a brief Discovery call via Zoom to really root into what my clients goals are.
After gathering that information, and determining whether we both feel called and aligned to move forward, we co-create a plan, and schedule our first session together.

All 1:1 private coaching happens via Zoom. Once a student/client purchases a package or session with me, they will schedule and attend their virtual sessions, and have direct access to me to be able to message me. All of our sessions will be recorded and emailed to the student within 48 hours with accompanying notes!

I am a Nationally Certified Sign Language Interpreter, and have been practicing for over 18 years now.
I have my Bachelors degree in Education.
I offer tutoring/teaching for anyone interested in learning American Sign Language (ASL)! I have taught and interpreted in SO many different capacities over my career and can meet you where you're at!

I typically book 1:1 packages with a minimum of 4-6 sessions, rather than just one session at a time, so we can have committed consistency, and create the most exponential growth for you! However, if you want to start with one first session and go from there, we can absolutely do that, too! These classes, and how we approach it, is All student lead.

After we've created a good foundation, you are more than welcome to keep adding on more packages, or just one-off sessions to keep brushing up on your skills, for as long as you want to work together! No matter how you chose to do it, we always take it at your own pace!

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with my Bachelor's in Exceptional Education and Sign Language Interpreting.

During my time in the Interpreter Training Program at UWM, I worked more fieldwork hours than anyone in my graduating class, and was approached by a professor and mentor at the time to collaborate and start a campus organization.

Myself and a few other Deaf students on campus, and other interpreters, worked together to develop, plan, and launch the Signing Student Association (SSA), which is now a very large and flourishing campus organization almost 2 decades later.

After graduating college, I was interpreting at UWM, and became the Lead Job Development Specialist and Job Coach for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (D/HH) community through a local non-profit organization, helping them learn how to search for jobs, apply for jobs, interview for them, and finally get them. Once they were hired for a job, I worked closely with them and the employer to make sure everyone knew how to work well together and have a very successful experience, long term. Looking back, this is basically where my "teaching" began!

I have interpreted in every single setting from standing on stages for concerts, to scrubbing in for surgeries and various procedures, to interpreting for large conferences, job trainings, high school and college settings, and an overwhelming amount of medical environments.

I now mostly focus on Video Relay Service (VRS), fielding calls from all over the country. Any call you can ever possibly imagine in your mind that could be made, I have likely interpreted it; from 911 calls and high up governmental meetings, to ordering a pizza, setting up appointments with various places, and truly, anything your mind can think up, I've probably interpreted it or know someone who has! What an incredible blessing and experience!

Additionally, I had the privilege of becoming the ASL Teacher at Ruffing Montessori school for awhile, too, and that was such an amazing experience. That was a new way to show up in the formal role of a Teacher to so many incredible students.

The extent of my involvement in the Deaf community since the very beginning has been immense. I always had a draw to the language since I was a young girl, and life has offered up so many incredible opportunities along the way to make an impact and strengthen my skills with the language.

My passions are education and empowerment. Working 1:1 with clients to learn ASL is such a gift. There are so many people interested in learning for a very wide range of reasons.

If I can have an impact on one person's life by empowering them with this new language, the ripple effect of that person going out into the world and using it to impact Deaf peoples lives is vastly beautiful, and the bridge between the Deaf and Hearing world to communicate is strengthened.

PS: I'm also an Advanced level Yoga Teacher, Meditation teach, Lifestyle and wellness coach, and Movement teacher for women, and more! So I have had my teacher's hat on in many different capacities! :) I know I can meet at support you where you're at!
I have worked with preschoolers all the way to adults. Everyone has different goals, and different inspiration for learning. With such a diverse background of professional experiences under my belt, and having served in so many different teaching capacities, I can guarantee that I'll be able to meet you where you're at and help you get to where you want to go!

Make sure you feel safe and comfortable with them. Trust your intuition. You know right away most times if you're a good match :)
