I am a classically trained Opera singer. I have been teaching for 20 years. My students have come from all backgrounds of musical genres and all ages. My specialty is helping students develop good singing habits and become comfortable performing in the style they prefer. I encourage the student to bring in their choice of music as well as offering music in which I am familiar to teach them proper technique but not force them into a certain singing style. Learning to play an instrument involves practicing. Wow, what a stupid sounding statement. Practicing is only marginally profitable unless you know “how” to practice. I could tell you right here, in a few words, how to practice and you might say, “ Well, of course, anyone would know that.” The problem is, knowing and doing it two different things.
