I have been involved in music practically my whole life. I sang around the house as a young child and started piano lessons at age 5. In high school I seriously studied voice, piano and French horn and was heavily involved in my school's music program. That's why many people were surprised when I didn't major in music immediately out of high school......I got a psychology degree instead and then returned to school 2 years later to officially study music. For this readon, I feel like I have a particularly keen understanding of my students and I try to tailor my teaching to each individual's personality.
I don't expect that all my students will choose music as a profession, but I want to give them the skills to be able to enjoy making music for their whole life. Music is my passion and I try to share the enjoyment I get from it with my students.
