Baseball/Softball Private Instruction -Coach Slone
About
I pride myself in creating a learning environment of safety, discovery, and small wins that motivates a player to go further. I ask the players questions so they can begin to learn to coach themselves through struggles on their own. I encourage players to ask me questions if they don't understand something or why I'm asking them to do a specific drill. Over time I enjoy helping a player learn both the physical and mental parts of the game. As Yogi Berra said "Baseball is 90 percent mental. The other half is physical."
I also regularly highlight one of my players on my Facebook reel feed at least once a month. I just started doing this in November 2022 I encourage you to hop over to my reels and check them out.
I love everything about coaching. I really enjoy seeing the excitement in a players face when they have a small win during a session. My day gets better every time I get a message from a parent or player about success they had on the field after putting the work in.

How did you get started teaching?
I stopped coaching varsity baseball because my kids were getting into travel baseball and softball and I didn't want to miss their games. I started doing individual training because I could set my own hours. I loved doing this and will probably do this forever

All ages
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the coach not only tells you to do something but explains why they are asking you to do it. Also the coach should be open to you having questions
