About this pro

I have over 35 years of teaching experience, including ten years of teaching in public and parochial school venues. I am a Fine Arts specialist. I can teach lessons in any Band or Orchestral instrument, Visual Art or Theatre. I can come to the student, or the student can come to me. I work with the whole student and their parents. I am a mentor teacher. I welcome students of all ages, starting at age four on up.  (including keyboards)The first lesson includes an assessment of the student abilities and establishment of student, parent, and teacher's expectations. I give a multiple student discount.  I offer numerous types of lesson packages. I love the arts and enjoying them.

I love sharing the fine arts with people and helping them learn something new about their creative side. I love teaching the sometimes silent art of creation. I want my students to find joy in musical or artistic expression. I love watching "the lights" come into a student's eyes when they master something the first time and discover something new about themselves. while having fun.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The first lesson is usually an hour so that I can assess the student, meet a parent and get to know what they want and goals the wish to set. Then I check out the instrument, books talk about expectations, the student's the parent and mine. I give the first lesson and set the next one. I always start with an assessment and start where they are. We do review basics especially if they come to me after having another instructor.
