About
I am a full time composer and sound designer for television, video games and trailers. I started teaching in 2011 because I found that people are continually frustrated by not getting the most out of their time learning music or improving their craft. I teach in a way that transforms the lives, playing and music of my students in ways that most instructors are unaware of. I make it as "real world" as I can whether it's playing a guitar, writing a song or producing music on your laptop. Having had success in the music industry I can provide advantages over the typical small room in a music shop where the instructor has been sitting for 2 decades. No cookie cutter lessons from a book here. I'll provide materials to help you along and make custom tracks to take home to help you practice. My knowledge becomes your knowledge! My life is built around making music professionally and I love to share my knowledge and experience with others! Is there a better job? I'm an experienced composer/producer, guitar, bass and sax performer of 20+ years available for eager and enthusiastic students of all levels and ages! I structure my lessons based on whatever my student is interested in.
Making music is my number one passion in life and sharing that with other people is a close second. I've been in many bands, written songs, produced records, mixed projects and built my career around working with people around the world. To me, there is nothing better in life than what music can do and how it brings people together.
Whether it's guitar lessons, recording vocals or teaching someone how to produce their own music I'm 100% dedicated to bringing out the best of everyone I meet!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Simply talking music! I'll find out what you know for starters. What are your goals? What do you want to accomplish? No one is the same and my lessons reflect that. We come up with a plan together and move forward while we play and learn songs, theory, scales, etc. Each lesson is different as we focus on more and new aspects of music.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been playing and writing for over 25 years and teaching for over 9 years. By performing on stage with several successful bands I know the importance of practice and stage presence. Also, my music is used hundreds of times a month for TV and Movie Ad Campaigns... all produced, written and engineered by myself.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$40/hr -or- $25 per 1/2 hr
How did you get started teaching?
Originally for extra income, but it has become a part of my life and I enjoy it very much!
What types of students have you worked with?
All of them! Young to retired and special needs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Every show I play with my band is great and being part of blockbuster movie campaigns is pretty darn cool too! My most recent credits include Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom and The Nun.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You have to find someone that you communicate well with that can show you a clear path to your goals. Also... HAVE FUN!!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
You need decent gear. A great guitar that plays well will help you verses an instrument that you stuggle getting basic things done on. Get the right gear the first time and it can save you some hours and heartache.
