About
I absolutely love teaching photography. I have trained others who went on to become professional photographers. I’ve also judged elementary and middle school photography competitions. I've been nominated Best Wedding Photographer for Westerville for 3 years now
Recently, I donated my teaching time for a Mid-Ohio foodbank fundraiser.
This is my passion and I love to help others grow their passion as well. Whether that is learning how to use your camera, photography 101, or how to light and compose a shot, I will be here to show you hands on how to shoot better photos fast.
Getting to know clients/students is the best part!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I like to know what the student’s knowledge is coming in, so I can start at an appropriate level. I will prepare guides for reference and work hands on with the student. I like to do photo walks so the student can put into practice what they learn right away.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor of Arts, Ohio State University
and continuous training
How did you get started teaching?
There was a need for better photos at my place of work and I took on the role of training nearly 50 associates how to take better photos within 3 days. From there, word got out and others came to me as a resource. Since then I have taught others in the community.
What types of students have you worked with?
Most have no prior knowledge how to take a photo besides point and shoot. A few have some knowledge how to use their D-SLR camera, but not all the functions.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Lighting is by far the most difficult to understand, so it is the easiest way to “weed out” those who don’t have a higher understanding of how lighting can be used and manipulated especially in dark environments.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do you love about photography? What do you want to learn?
