About

I am not a company. I am an individual that is very passionate about teaching and tutoring students Spanish levels I, II and III.

I usually tutor middle school, high school and college students who want to improve their grade or who are struggling.

I tutored last year from August 2018 to May 2019 with a company called Grade Potential. I tutored a high school student in Spanish III in Powell Ohio.

Spanish was my major in college and I graduated in 1980 where I received a grade point average of 3.8 in Spanish from the Ohio State University.

In 1981, I returned to OSU and majored in Foreign Language Education. While I was receiving my Master's, I taught at OSU levels I,II and III for two years. I graduated in 1983.

After I graduated, I taught for two years as a substitute teacher in Spanish I, II and III for middle school and high school students at Upper Arlington and Gahanna Lincoln.

I went on to work for Ohio Medicaid for 25 years where I used Spanish in customer service on the telephone.

During the years I was at Medicaid, I tutored on occasion for students in high school.

Presently I am retired and am looking for some part time tutoring. I really like the language and truly enjoy seeing others learn it. I do keep up on it and practice and review every day via the computer.

What makes my tutoring great is that I am very professional, hard working, patient and will work with the student explaining the mechanics of Spanish.

I will review the lessons and apply them to practical use in order to communicate with Spanish speakers.

Having taught Spanish and majoring in it at OSU, I still am very enthusiastic and very glad when the student learns how to apply his/her knowledge of Spanish.

I ask the student to show me exactly what s/he is doing in the class and ask what grades s/he is receiving in order to know exactly what s/he needs to practice with me.

I have worked with midddle and high school students who were taking college preparatory classes.

Many of the students were very good and received high grades.

Some students were average and below in Spanish.

My tutoring services were offered for those students.

In a professional manner, I tutored a level III student who worked hard with me and began to communicate in Spanish in a more relaxed way.

I would advise that the teacher is fluent in Spanish, friendly, patient, who creates helpful excercises for lessons that are intersting and even fun at times.

Students need to evaluate the most pressing of needs and how to clearly communicate them to the teacher.

The student needs to be able to specifically explain in detail what exactly they are struggling with as well as telling the teacher what kind of excercises help him/her the most.
