Don C. Harris Lightcraft
About
I've been a high end professional photographer for 25 years. I was classically trained in all areas of photography back in the film era when you had to be precise and know what you were doing because there was no LCD screen. Photography is about mastering light and producing something that is different and striking because of deliberate decisions the photographer makes. I know how to break down difficult concepts into simple, easy to understand bites. You will learn more in a much faster time because I will focus on taking you where you are and giving you the confidence to move your photography to a new skill level that you will be thrilled with. I work with any level from beginner to other professional photographers. I can save you money by recommending the right photography gear that is affordable. You do not need an expensive camera or equipment to work with me. It is the skill of the photographer, not the equipment that makes fantastic imagery. If you like certain images you have seen, I can quickly assess them and let you know how to create the same look. If you are just starting out, or have been a professional for a number of years and want to take your craft to the next level, I can help guide you to where you want to be creatively.
I give fun and challenging assignments to grow your skills between each lesson. The assignments will relate to what you are wanting to learn. My teaching style is tailored to you. I do not rehash old lessons created for other people. We will go at your pace.
I was trained by wonderful teachers and the finest Master Photographers from a bygone era. And I love to teach in a similar way, one skill at a time building on the other. This method gives you the foundation you need to continue on in developing your own style rather than simply copying someone else. It's important to me that you learn how to develope your own unique style.
