About

I have been teaching in the OKC area for over 20 years and I can definitely work with you on improving your skills no matter your level. I teach in peoples homes, so it's much more convenient than traveling out to a studio or store. Skype lessons are available online, as well, to make it more convenient for students in outlying areas.

I teach most styles and as much theory as you want. We explore the goals and skill level of each student and craft a lesson plan around your particular needs. My goal is to make practice FUN!

I can usually find a plan that fits your budget, and a time that fits your schedule.

Openings are Tuesday through Thursday afternoons & evenings from 2pm to 8pm, and Saturday afternoons, as available. When you have a minute, call me so we can find the spot best for you. Thanks!!

Jesse is really down to earth. He has made a life of music and is incredibly knowledgeable not just about guitar, but multiple instruments and music. He is patient, kind and very supportive. I’ve enjoyed his music instruction for almost 2 years now and have learned a lot about myself and playing guitar. The bonus I got with his instruction is I have a life long friend that I can talk to about anything and vice versa. I rate Jesse as a 5 star instructor. A+. Very affordable too.

Jesse is a great musician who is clearly passionate about music. Working with Jesse I learned a lot about both the Mandolin, Guitar, music theory, and music history. He has lots of great stories about his long professional career in music. I highly recommend Jesse for musicians of all ages!

    Frequently asked questions

I do not have a set curriculum, but rather craft a lesson plan around your individual needs; your goals and skill level. We make learning and practice as fun as we possibly can while maintaining our focus on acheivement and improvement.

I am the son of professional musicians on both sides - mom & dad. My father was a guitar teacher his entire life. I have been playing, professionally for over 50 years. I have also been a Singer-Songwriter for many years and have done quite a bit of recording as well as performing. I run the most friendly and performance oriented Open Mic in the OKC area! at JJ's Alley in Bricktown every Saturday night from 6:30 to 9:30 and Sunday night from 8:30 to close. Come on down and check us out!

Instruments are $40/hr in your home.

Vocals are $45/hr in your home.

Skype Lessons are $30 the 1/2 hour anywhere in the world!

Pretty much born into it and...

I am dedicated to passing on the Love of LIVE Music!

ALL types! Young and old, experienced and beginners.  All are welcome!!

A favorite Student had a wonderful breakthough! They reached a plateau they had been seeking for a while! Very rewarding to see the smile on their face!

Avoid the 'cookie cutter' cheap guys. A Music Lesson cannot be taught to a serious adult in a half hour! If they do not help to make your practice FUN! then move on!
They should understand - and be able to communicate - the How and Why as well as the 'What' of playing or singing.
If they have not performed for extended periods of their life, they are simply not qualified to teach. This is much more important than 'training'.  Seek out someone you like!  Call ME!!

What are my goals? Be very specific. "I want to play for my kids."  "I want to get good enough to play open mics." "I want to be a professional." Etc.
Also 'How do I learn?' (By watching? By seeing it written down? By hearing? By doing? Etc.) And be sure to communicate this to your teacher the very first day!
How much TIME am I willing to devote? (Any less than 30-40 minutes a day - every day - is just not going to get it.) More is better - to a point! Practic is KEY. It is the one thing that the instructor CANNOT do FOR you! YOU must find the time and the inspiration.
Also, think of this as a minimum of 3 month/90 day COMMITMENT. Find an instrument that you Love and want to be with everyday! And music that 'turns you on'.
Also "How 'technical' do I want to get? More or less 'Theory'.  And "Will this be FUN and exciting!
Will I look forward to Lessons and Practicing everyday?"
