About this pro

I am a classical pianist with more than 20 years of musical experineces and 10 years of teaching experience. The range of my students are from age 5 to senior adult, and from beginners to advance students. I have experience coaching students who got accepted into a intensive music program in Aisa.

I am currently a Doctoral candidate in Piano Performance at the University of Oklahoma. I was offered numerous scholarships and graduate assistant as a rehearsal pianist of school's Opera Theater. I obtained my Master's in Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Ohio University in 2015. During my master's studies, I have worked closedly with the co-authors and staffs of a new well-knowned piano method "Piano Safari" and Dr. Christopher Fisher, the author of "Teaching Piano In Group". I have performed in solo recitals and chamber concerts in Taiwan, Germany, and the United States.

I am flexible with choosing the right lesson materials that fit individual needs. My strength of teaching is building a good foundation centered on technique, because I believe good technique is critial to serve as a tool to help a musician to express and communicate well with their music. I also believe the ability of reading music well can help a musican to access wider range of music. Besides these, I am certain my compassionate personality makes me a good listener and willing to communicate with students well.

I enjoy seeing my students making progress and having the sense of achievement when they reach their goals. Seeing them being able to apply the concepts they learned from me and apply them to different tasks is also what I look forward to.
