We teach honest citizens how to shoot better and faster, utilizing these life saving skills to prevail in a gunfight.
I am a former Marine, former law enforcement and current holder of over 50 State and Regional handgun titles I've been teaching folks to improve their handgun skill for 30 years

I enjoy taking someone from "eager to learn" to fully competent.

David knows his stuff without being cocky or arrogant. He made it fun. A fly landed on my target and, being silly, asked if he could hit it. He did! But his goal was to make me a better shooter and he succeeded! I’m booking private lessons after I finish this review.
It gave real world applications to very real possibilities. Not just something out of a book. It definitely made you better prepared.
David was awesome. He instructed on my level & made me feel very comfortable. I have learned a lot & have more to learn from a great instructor.
I liked the personal attention and ability to adjust content to my skill level.
I schedule classes, posted at OKCFIREARMSTRAINING.com and at Stand Ready Defense on Facebook, but I am also available for one-on-one private instruction. I tailor the curriculum for each individual shooter, as this is the fastest way to improve skill.

While in law enforcement, I helped train a 120 person department and was an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor
I compete in USPSA matches and achieved a skill rating of GrandMaster. I've won over 50 State and Regionsl titles
I've taken and continue to take classes offered by other competent instructors, some famous, others not do much. I keep abreast of the latest teaching and shooting techniques available and incorporate any elements that improve how I instruct.
Group class prices vary, from $49 to $100
Private instruction is $75 an hour with a two hour minimum. Package prices are available which will save you money.
You can "try before you buy." Take one lesson, then if you like how it went, put that lesson money towards package pricing.
I discovered many people teaching others how to shoot cannot shoot very well themselves. If they're incapable of recognizing their shortcomings or fail to improve their own shooting skills, how can they teach others? But there are many "instructors" out there doing exactly that
Shooting is a life long passion for me. I want to instill safe gun handling and good marksmanship skills in others.
I've worked with teenagers, folks in their 80's, men, women and everyone in between.
Look at their willingness to shoot in front of the students. If they refuse to shoot in front of you, find somebody who will AND perform to at least the level they're asking of you.
If a student seeks instruction on learning how to use a gun for defense, the student must first ask themselves if they are willing and able to kill someone who's trying to kill them.
if not, buy pepper spray and call it good.
