What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I meet with the student (and parent), and discuss what they're looking to achieve with private music lessons. After that conversation, I have the student play some music to assess what their skills are and how we can improve and expand those skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Seth Wish earned his Masters Degree in Trumpet Performance (with Honors) from New England Conservatory (NEC) of Music. He also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Trumpet Performance from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN.
Member of NEC Honors Brass Quintet
While in New England he was an active freelance musician. He performed with the Rhode Island Ballet, the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the Boston Festival Orchestra, the Boston Festival Brass, the New England Symphony Orchestra, the New Music Ensemble of Rhode Island, the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, and Connecticut Opera.
Seth has over 25 years of experience as a trumpet teacher. He served as the Trumpet Instructor at Saint Georges Academy, Newport, RI. An adjunct Professor of Trumpe,t Keene College, Keene NH and adjunct Professor of Trumpet, Connecticut College. In addition, Seth has provided private instructions to dozens or Jr. High, Sr. High and College students.
Seth is extremely popular with students. In fact students frequently comment on his fun, positive and engaging style.
