I teach finger style guitar, both acoustic & electric.
i have played and lead a blues band for 10 years.
I have played guitar for a very long timem, and have learn much about playing and wrting with the guitar. I would love to be able to share that knowledge and the skills that I've learned over the years with a person excited and anxious to learn to play and use those guitar tricks.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I try to evaluate what skills the student has and what their desired outcome from my lessons, then I start with making those outcomes become a reality.
They also need to determine if my style of playing and my knowledge of the guitar can help them. I usually offer the first lesson free so that we can make those evaluations before starting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a music major in college, studied jazz guitar under Scott McDevitt, have played for 50+ years (with various groups and some solo work), have taught guitar to quite a few students, and have taught a blues-jam class through Mt. Hood Community College..
