Lafayette Painting Lessons
About
I am interested in helping you learn the skills needed to get your perfect mental images and ideas in the physical world. I have had 3 years of professional training and have many tricks and tips up my sleeve to help you achieve your creative goals. I specialize in painting oils, acrylic and watercolor. The dry mediums I work in are charcoal, pencil and inking. I enjoy teaching how to paint or draw still lives, portraiture, anatomy, and botanicals.
Creating puts you in a meditative and flow mindset. This alleviates stress and brings you joy. I love being able to teach others to experience the fulfillment that accompanies creating.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with a free consultation preferably in person at a coffee shop. I like to make sure this will be a good fit for both of us. I will ask a few questions to understand what style, medium, and subject matter you are interested in making. After this, I will specialize in a lesson plan that is tailored to your needs and artistic goals. Our next session will be going over the syllabus and materials that are needed. The remaining time will be guiding you to your creative vision!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have drawing and painting since my childhood, but have had 3 years of professional training in the fine arts. I have a passion for art history and love bringing in articles and artists that relate to your work to inspire you!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge 80 dollars for a 2-hour class with some supplies included. I do offer shorter lessons but find that 2 hours goes by very quickly while working in a studio class. Once we've found the medium that works best for you I highly recommend taking ownership of your art by buying your own oil paints, brushes, etc.
