Learning a musical instrument can be one of life's greatest challenges yet rewarding beyond measure. My job as a music teacher is not only to share my knowledge of the instrument and music but to also educate, guide and inspire musicians of all ages to learn the joy of creating and sharing music. In doing so, students will learn skills and techniques that reach far beyond the studio, skills that are useful throughout lifelong pursuits.

A graduate from Principia College, I studied flute under the tutelage of Dr. Marie Jureit-Beamish. Other teachers later included Robert Cram, Sara Tuck, Sydney Carlson to name a few. Attended and participated in master classes with Francis Blaisdell, Jean-Pierre Rampal, James Galway, Jeanne Baxtresser, Keith Underwood, Peter Lloyd, William Bennett, Trevor Wye and others.

Also a graduate of the Military School of Music and a former musician of the U.S. Marine Corps, has studied, traveled and performed all over the world. After marrying a Naval Officer and starting a family, became a freelance musician, continuing to perform solo, chamber, pit orchestra and symphonic works throughout Europe and the U.S. while homeschooling her two children, who are now grown professional musicians.

Currently a resident of Beaverton, Oregon, continues to teach privately and performs along the Pacific West Coast, and U.S. Also volunteers with area community groups - flute choirs, ensembles, symphonies and bands.

Is a current member of the NFA (National Flute Association), MTNA (Music Teachers National Association), OMTA (Oregon Music Teachers Association), CAPMT (California Association of Professional Music Teachers), GPFS (Greater Portland Flute Society) and the SAA (Suzuki Association of the Americas)

It is such a privilege to teach and learn from my students. Music touches and moves people on so many levels and to experience that journey with each student is unique and wonderful. Learning music, sharing music, it's an amazing lifelong journey.
