How did you get started teaching?
Crafts and teaching have always been passions. Bringing the two together is perfection. Teaching those who think they cannot do, to actually create something with pride, is my goal. I love seeing students achieve beautiy in their crafts!
Review by a student:
"What a fun evening! Claire has thought of every detail and guides you step by step through the whole process! She is such an encourager and makes you feel like you have just made a masterpiece! I highly recommend her classes! I can't wait to take another one!"
What types of students have you worked with?
All types, from novices who have never crafted to those who are pros, from children to grandparents, everyone is welcome. All crafts offered can be customized to suit the student.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was asked to create wooden journals to use as recipe folders for a group of cooks during a team building event. A few of them said that although they were great with food, they were awful at crafts and were apprehensive. After the event, my favorite feedback was:
"This was my favorite part of the team building weekend. I only did this, because I had to and expected to throw away my journal. I got so involved that I forgot my inhibitions and made a recipe folder that I use every day and am proud to show off at all my shows. Thank you, THREE & ME for teaching me a new skill that absolutely rocked."
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a teacher who teaches their passion. Their enthusiams for their topic will ignite a desire to learn in you!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be honest about your needs. Ask and you will get answers.
