Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Standard, No. Per the hour normally, but if lessons are to be longer than an hour pricing fluctuates depending on travel time to and from students location, excursions, etc.
How did you get started teaching?
My tour guide business in Oregon was also offering workshops for those attending.
What types of students have you worked with?
Normally my tour guide service was situated for Camera Clubs and international Visitors, from beginning to learn to professional.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The most recent event or shoot was a trip through North Central Oregon in the farmlands that are situated along the Oregon Trail. Including the lands where the wildfires had been near The Dalles, Wasco, and Friend, Oregon.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
First look at the instructors past accomplishments and then you will be able to see if they fit into the area of your own interests.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Knowing what they want to learn, lighting is a key, wanting to know correct F stop use and shutter speed combinations to correctly capture the images they are asking to learn. Instructors willingness to work with student on a one to one basis so they may learn at a faster pace.
