What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We'll be painting the first day. This is best way to get to know each other. Painting side by side and talking though the painting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been an artist for over 20 years. I am certified by Bob Ross to teach landscape painting.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Private lessons are billed by the hour. Painting parties are billed by the person.
How did you get started teaching?
I've been teaching or providing corporate training in the creative field for more than 20 years. I've always been helped by others through my life to become a better artist. I've always had a passion for returning the favor.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students of all levels. From having ne er touched a brush through full time artists.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My Bob Ross painting classes are some of my favorite things to do. It is so cool to see people take a few hours of their time and try something different. It is also super exciting to see the end result.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you have the courage to pick up a brush, you have it in you to be an artist.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are you expecting to get out of the classes? There is no wrong answer but it important to remember why you chose to do it.
