Deborah Konupka Piano Studio

Hello! My name is Deborah and I offer one-on-one private instruction in piano to students of all ages and abilities - children through adult, beginner to advanced - in increments of 30-, 45- and 60-minute sessions in your home or at my studio.

I am a classically trained musician having earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (with a Jazz Piano concentration) degree from Temple University as well as completed post-graduate studies in the same field. Over the past 25+ years I have enjoyed not only teaching private piano but also teaching music in both public and private schools and serving as a Director of Music, Choir Director and Organist/Accompanist in churches in the Philadelphia and Lancaster areas.

Instruction is offered in the classical tradition (with the addition of some jazz and pop) and tailored to the individual student according to interest and ability. In addition to the fundamentals (or, 'nuts and bolts') of piano pedagogy, I also incorporate ear training, theory and a little improvisation and composition in my instructional methods to provide a more complete musical understanding and to enhance my students' musical knowledge and performance.

I believe that you're never too young or too old to learn an instrument (or pick up where you left off)! I look forward to meeting and working with you!
