About this pro

My name is Cassidy Brown and I currently am a professional baseball player in the Texas Rangers organization.

I went to high school in northeast Ohio where I was the catcher for three draft picks during my tenure there at Walsh Jesuit High School.

After that I accepted a Division 1 scholarship to Loyola Marymount University and played three seasons there from 2014-16. I was an All Conference selection in 2016 and was drafted in the MLB draft after my junior year in the 12th round to the Cincinnati Reds.

This past season I spent my time with the AA and AAA affiliates of the Reds.

Cassidy has been a pleasure to work with. My son enjoys going to each workout. His catching and batting skills have improved in just a few lessons. Highly recommend!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

During a session with me I want to be ready to work. We won’t be overwhelming ourselves with more than one objective at a time. There is a time to be loose and joke around and then a time to make yourself better. Depending on the skill level and age there are different drills and opinions I will be able to share with the client. At a younger age, the body is still developing along with the brain on how to do simple tasks such as catch, throw, and hit the ball properly. As we grow our skill level improves and we are able to gather new ideas and information and put them to work in our own game. A healthy combination of conversation and drill work will be used in my lessons. Sometimes one a little more than the other but both will be used during the time. The athlete will be encouraged to give feedback and how he feels about certain ideas and drills that he is told about because I am not seeking for a lesson that has me telling the player to do certain drills with no conversation or brainstorming and then the player goes home with essentially just an exercise completed. I will have certain agendas set out and client wants to do multiple lessons we will setup a schedule that builds up to the players ultimate goal.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

During the past 3 offseasons, I have worked at two academies such as All Star baseball and Diamond baseball with players of various ages. This past winter I worked individually with players at my alumni, Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles California. I enjoy working with all ages of athletes, but with one request that my clients have a goal and show up ready to get there. I have also been around baseball players at the highest level for the last four years, picking up on what it takes to become the best in the world.

How did you get started teaching?

Baseball has always been apart of my life. Once I became a professional athlete I was able to have free time during my offseason months. I have been giving private lessons at a facility for the past 3 years and now I am going on my own to teach anyone willing to work to get to the next level.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with players of all ages. Anyone over the age of 5 I am more than willing and happy to work with. At any level, whether it is just starting baseball or trying to get a college scholarship or even playing in an adult league, I am here to help.
