About
Shaun Ellis is a professional baseball pitched from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At 9 years old Shaun started playing baseball for local recreation center. He continued to play baseball and develop his skill throughout Middle School and High School. When it was time for college, Shaun received a scholarship to play baseball at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
After continuing his baseball career throughout college, Shaun Ellis was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008. After being released by the Phillies in 2009, Shaun played for numerous Independent Professional teams as a starter and relief pitcher. In 2013, Shaun reentered affiliated baseball when he signed with the Cincinnati Reds. After being moved to the number one starter role in the rotation, Shaun was selected to participate in the Double A All-Star Game in 2013. In 2014, Shaun was signed by the New Jersey Jackals and played an important role in the bullpen winning the Jackals first place in the season. With the help of Shaun, the team continued on to the Championship series where the Jackals lost in 6 games. During the 2014 season Shaun lead the league in appearances and had more strikeouts than innings pitched. After 7 years as a professional baseball player, this is only a brief snapshot of his accomplishments.
Over Shaun’s lengthy career, he has acquired many coaching philosophies and styles. He is able to take those styles and tailor a program per child versus a one fits all program. Anyone that has a desire to pitch, Shaun is able to put these skills to work to make those he coaches complete pitchers.
During a private lesson with Shaun, a student athlete will receive 1-1 instruction going over various physical and mental exercises. During the private session Shaun will cover dynamic warm-up, static stretching, throwing progression, 20-30 pitch bullpen, aerobic conditioning, shoulder care, mental preparation and pitch grips depending on length of the session. Upon completion of the session, Shaun will provide recommendations for at home exercises, shoulder care and prepare goals for the next session.
