What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The typical process in working with a new student is coming up with a plan that focuses on making the player feel welcome, appreciated, and part of the organization’s culture as soon as possible.  I believe as a coach our job is to set the expectation high, convey the message clearly, operate in integrity and journey along with the player.  Working with a new student is just like working with a new colleague, I express genuine interest in the new student as a person.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a former college basketball player.  I am currently the head coach of the 16u Philly Spurs AAU team and the assistant coach at Norristown High School.  I have been around basketball my entire life and with the wealth of knowledge that I have, I feel obligated to share with others.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I really don't have a standard pricing system for my lessons because I love what I do.  The pricing with vary depending on the financial situation of the player/student!

How did you get started teaching?

I got started teaching when I was a 6th grader.  I always had a passion of sharing tips and ideas with my teammates.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with an extensive number of students over the years.  I have worked with division 1 players and I have worked with Overseas players.  I have also been able to work with a few NBA players that I played and worked out with during my playing career.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I am a huge believer in community service.  I love habitat for humanity because they teach younger adults about the importance of serving the community.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would tell the student to listen out for what the teacher is not saying.  I encourage all students to do their research in locating the proper teacher to help them with their maturation process.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

I encourage students to ask themselves if they really want to improve.  I believe its the trainers job to partner with the student and maximize their potential.  Students should ask themselves why am I doing this.
